All About Mrs. Wheaton
Welcome to first grade! I’m excited for the opportunity to get to know you and your child, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
To begin, I would like to tell you a little about myself! I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2008. I also completed my master program in Educational Technology through Concordia University in 2012. This is my 1st year teaching at Big Hollow but my 11th year as a first grade teacher!
My family and I currently live in Fox Lake. I keep busy taking care of our seven year old son, Liam (who is starting second grade at Big Hollow Elementary this school year!), and four year old (sassy) daughter, Reagan! We also have a pet cat named Todd. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors (especially at the beach in the summer). I love any kind of coffee drink! I also have a younger sister, who teaches first grade in Antioch, and a younger brother.
If you ever have any questions or concerns or if you would like to schedule a conference, or volunteer, you can contact me at [email protected] or 740-5320 X3046. I will check my messages and e-mail promptly after the students leave.
Once again, welcome to first grade. I look forward to getting to know both you and your child throughout the year. Let’s work together to make this school year the best!
